Objective
The goal of this project was to build a structured and informative website for IQAC SUST. The site needs to provide easy public access to office information, official updates, and official documents using proper WordPress design and basic WordPress SEO practices.
Project Summary
IQAC SUST required a website to post reports, display committee details, and publish news updates. It had to be fast, easy to manage, and accessible to the stakeholders. I was assigned to design the full site, apply basic SEO, and write the initial content.
The website also needed specific pages: Home, About IQAC, Committee, Office Staff, Download, Gallery, News, and Contact.
What I Did
I built the site using WordPress and customized a clean, responsive theme. I created each of the required pages and structured them for clarity. The layout was designed for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring users could easily find reports, staff lists, and updates.
For SEO, I handled the basics. I set user-friendly permalinks, added metadata, created a sitemap, and connected the site with Google Search Console. I used relevant keywords to help Google index the most important content.
I also added several news posts and official files to prepare the site for public access.
Results
The website launched successfully and functioned smoothly across all devices. IQAC staff could upload documents and post news with ease. The site began appearing in Google for targeted search terms within weeks of indexing.
Final Note
A simple, well-structured site with clear content and proper SEO setup is key for university units like IQAC. This project gave SUST a dependable platform to manage its official communication.
