Local SEO & Website Redesign for iDiM Architects Inc.

Client: Khalid Ibrahim
Business Name: iDiM Architects Inc.
Service Duration: May 2023 – May 2025
Service Type: Website Redesign, Local SEO, GBP Optimization, Content Optimization
Role: Local SEO Specialist
Platform: WordPress, Google Business Profile (GBP)
Website: idimarchitects.com

Objective

This project aimed to boost iDiM Architects’ visibility in local search and generate at least 10 qualified leads or phone calls monthly through their website and Google Business Profile. These leads were expected to convert into 3 to 4 new clients monthly. The strategy focused on website improvement, GBP growth, and local SEO ranking performance.

Project Summary

iDiM Architects is a small, three-person architecture firm based in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, serving 13 cities across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). I worked remotely as a freelance Local SEO Specialist to help improve their online presence and increase lead generation.

The client initially hired me for a 3-month contract, but after seeing consistent growth in search visibility and inbound leads, he extended the project for a full 2 years.

The business had low online visibility and needed a complete digital upgrade. I was responsible for redesigning the WordPress website, optimizing their Google Business Profile, and building a long-term local SEO plan. My strategy focused on technical fixes, content improvements, authority building, and maintaining steady performance across search platforms. The main goal was to generate at least 10 phone calls or leads per month that could turn into paying customers.

What I Did

Website & GBP Audit

I began the project with a full audit of the client’s WordPress website and their Google Business Profile. I identified issues related to speed, indexing, inconsistent NAP details, and GBP category setup. These insights helped shape a clear plan for redesign and SEO actions.

Website Redesign

I redesigned the existing WordPress website to make it clean, responsive, and user-friendly. I improved layout structure, updated the design to align with the brand, and optimized the site for mobile performance.

I also structured the website properly for a local business, with clear service pages, city-specific landing pages, and strong internal linking. This helped both users and search engines understand the content easily. The site speed and user experience were significantly improved, which helped lower bounce rates and improve engagement.

Keyword Research

The client selected most of the target keywords. I reviewed and validated them using Ahrefs and Semrush to ensure they had local search volume and ranking potential. A total of 42 keywords were tracked throughout the campaign.

I grouped the keywords by intent and assigned them to landing pages, service pages, and supporting blog content to strengthen topical relevance.

Technical SEO

I fixed all basic technical SEO issues using tools like Screaming Frog and Optimizer. Tasks included:

  • Setting clean URL structures
  • Optimizing site speed and performance
  • Fixing broken links and redirects
  • Ensuring mobile-friendliness
  • Creating and submitting XML sitemaps
  • Setting up robots.txt
  • Connecting to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Bing Webmaster Tools

On-Page SEO

I optimized every page with proper H1 to H3 heading structures, internal linking, metadata, image alt texts, and schema where needed. I followed NLP-based optimization and applied local intent to service and city pages to strengthen search relevance.

I also embedded a Google Map on the contact page and added a consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone) section in the footer. This helped boost local trust signals and improved the chances of ranking in the local map pack.

Content Optimization

I worked with my team to improve existing content and add missing sections to meet keyword and intent alignment. We also updated service descriptions and location pages to match user search behavior in the GTA area.

Google Business Profile Optimization

I fully optimized the GBP listing by updating categories, service descriptions, hours, geo-tagged images, and regular weekly posts. I used BrightLocal and Local Dominator to track rankings. I also set up Q&A entries and made sure the business was appearing in local packs for key areas.

gbp map tracking result

Link Building

I built a diverse and clean link profile using:

  • Web 2.0 properties and blog posts
  • Press release submissions
  • Google stacking
  • HARO backlink
  • Profile backlinks
  • Image and PDF submissions
  • Comment backlinks
  • Social bookmarking

This helped improve the site’s domain relevance and authority over time.

Citation & Business Listing

I submitted the business to top-tier and niche local directories with accurate NAP data. Listings were created and maintained across platforms like Apple Maps, Yelp, Bing Places, and other Canada-specific directories.

Website Maintenance

Throughout the project, I kept the site updated with plugin and theme checks, regular backups, uptime monitoring, and form testing. This helped maintain performance and avoid common WordPress issues.

Social Media Management

I managed and updated business social profiles with branded posts and local engagement. Content aligned with services, community focus, and seasonal campaigns to keep the brand active online.

Results

  • 42 keywords targeted
  • 40 keywords ranked — some in the local map pack, others on Google SERP Page 1
  • GBP listing ranks well in the targeted area
  • Consistent monthly phone calls from both GBP and the website

Search Console Performance

September 2023 – August 2024

  • Total Clicks: 1.22K
  • Total Impressions: 74K
  • CTR: 1.7%
  • Avg. Position: 24.5

June 2024 – May 2025

  • Total Clicks: 2.61K
  • Total Impressions: 193K
  • CTR: 1.4%
  • Avg. Position: 25.1

The site started with zero clicks. Over time, performance grew steadily with improved indexing, visibility, and keyword placement.

gbp call performance

📢 The client left positive feedback on LinkedIn, confirming that they consistently receive enough leads to meet business goals.

Final Note

This project highlights how local SEO, a strong WordPress design, and effective Google Business Profile optimization can drive real business growth. With the right strategy, tools, and consistency, small firms like iDiM Architects can rank and compete in highly targeted local markets.

Objective

The aim was to increase organic traffic and improve visibility in Google Search. The focus was to reach more local and national users searching for organic groceries online.

Project Summary

Sarker Mart, a growing e-commerce store based in Dhaka, sells traditional and organic grocery items. The main challenge was low organic traffic and limited visibility for product pages in Google Search.
The goal was to drive more qualified visitors and improve ranking for high-intent grocery terms in both English and Bengali.

What I Did

The project involved a complete organic SEO setup and performance improvement plan over 6 months. My work included:

  • Keyword research for bilingual search behavior (Bengali + English)
  • On-page SEO updates across product and category pages
  • Technical SEO improvements, including 404 fixes and 301 redirection

Page speed was improved, mobile responsiveness was enhanced, and all crawl issues were resolved. Core Web Vitals performance was also improved to support long-term SEO value. 404 errors were fixed, and proper 301 redirects were added.

4. Content Optimization

Product and category descriptions were updated with helpful, buyer-focused language. Additional content was added to improve topical relevance and internal linking.

5. GBP Optimization

The Google Business Profile for Sarker Mart was fully optimized with accurate business info and categories. Location-specific details were included to increase visibility for local searches in Dhaka.

Technical SEO – URL Redirection Fix for Writingbay

Client: Writingbay (via Fiverr)
Service Date: December 2022
Service Type: Canonical URL Fix (via .htaccess)
Role: Technical SEO & Redirect Code Setup
Website: expertwritinghelp.com

url canonicalization fixing result

Project Summary

Writingbay was facing indexing issues caused by URL variations. Their site opened with both http and https, and with both www and non-www formats. This caused search engines to treat the same page as different URLs. I was hired to fix the problem with a proper redirection setup.

The client wanted a reliable solution placed directly in their cPanel’s .htaccess file.

What I Did

I first checked all URL versions of the website. I found that pages were opening under four different forms. This created duplicate versions in search engines.

I accessed the .htaccess file using cPanel. I then wrote clean, valid code to:

  • Redirect http to https
  • Redirect www to non-www

I made sure the redirects were 301 (permanent), so search engines would pass link value to the correct version. I tested the code to confirm all versions of the site pointed to one consistent format.

Results

After the update, all traffic and crawlers were sent to one preferred URL format. Duplicate indexing issues were resolved. The site’s main version began to appear more clearly in search results. Page authority was no longer split between multiple URLs.

Final Note

Proper redirection in the .htaccess file is a key part of technical SEO. It helps search engines understand the preferred version of a site. This small fix gave Writingbay better index control and improved SEO trust.
